Young Entrepreneurs Featured At Statesville Kids Biz Expo

STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — Young entrepreneurs will sell original products and services during the seventh annual Kids Biz Expo in downtown Statesville Friday, September 4th.

The event features students in kindergarten through 12th grade who have developed businesses involving artwork, baked goods, handmade crafts, jewelry and other original ideas. Organizers say the program gives participants practical experience with customer service, communication, money management and marketing.

The public may shop from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the lawn of Broad Street United Methodist Church, 315 West Broad Street. The expo is being held alongside the Friday After Five concert.

The Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce sponsors the program with Bobcat, The Local Collective and Makers Market. Vendor applications are closed, but the public is invited to attend and support the student businesses.
