Woman Jailed Under More Than $200K Bond On Charges Including Felony Identity Theft

36-year-old Tiffany Mae Jones of Statesville was arrested Thursday (November 16) by Troutman Police Officers. She’s charged with felony identity theft, nonsupport, and two counts of failure to appear.

While conducting a business check at an address on Charlotte Highway, a Troutman Police Department officer was told that there was an individual possibly switching prices on items. The officer began to investigate the incident and when he made contact with the woman she provided the officer with a North Carolina driver’s license. The image on the license did not match the female suspect.

Officers were able to identify the female as Tiffany Mae Jones through various criminal justice information systems. Jones was taken into custody for identity theft and outstanding orders for arrest.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Tiffany Mae Jones has multiple convictions listed, all in Iredell County. The convictions date back to 2009, with the most recent being in October, 2018 for felony counts of breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretense. She served just over eight months in jail following that conviction. The sentence began in April, 2019 and Jones was released in December, 2019.

Following Thursday’s arrest, Jones was taken before a magistrate where she was initially ordered held under a $53,114 bond. As of earlier today, (November 20) Jones was being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a total bond amount of $228,114. A Superior Court date is set for December 4.
