Woman Charged With Multiple Offenses Following Reported Chase
34-year-old Jessica Lynne Huggins of Moravian Falls was arrested Sunday (June 25) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine, possession of meth, and identity theft, along with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Huggins is additionally charged with several traffic counts including flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. She was also served arrest warrants from both Catawba and Wilkes Counties for failure to appear.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol pursued a driver into Alexander County from Wilkes County. The chase ended on Mt. Olive Church Road near the Wilkes County line. Jessica Lynne Huggins was taken into custody and was charged with the identity theft count after allegedly giving the trooper a false driver license. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to lend assistance.
In March, Huggins was arrested in Catawba County after missing court dates for felony probation violation, felony possession of methamphetamine and multiple traffic related offenses. The charges against Huggins in Wilkes County include felony counts of possession of meth and probation violation.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Huggins has multiple convictions on record dating back to June, 2010. Most of the cases are from Wilkes County. The charges included felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering.
Huggins was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $127,500. She remained in jail as of earlier today (June 29). The next Alexander County District Court date is set for July 17.
