49-year-old Carolyn Michelle Jones of Appaloosa Lane in Statesville was arrested last Friday (August 7) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of stalking.
A report was filed last Wednesday (August 5) with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to cyberstalking. The investigation was assigned to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.
The victim was interviewed and police found numerous voicemails and text messages that the suspect allegedly sent the victim over the course of several days. The evidence showed that the suspect, Carolyn Michelle Jones used several telephone numbers to contact the victim.
Based on the evidence obtained, the magistrate issued a misdemeanor cyberstalking warrant. As a result of previous charges being filed against Jones by the same victim, and a release order being in place, which prohibited Jones from contacting the victim, a felony stalking warrant was obtained as well.
Jones was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was initially jailed without bond. She has since been released on bond. She was scheduled to appear in District Court Monday (August 10).
