Woman Charged With Drug Offenses Following Traffic Stop, Search
38-year-old Laura Michelle Krysz of Opal Street in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, possession of meth, and maintaining a vehicle for the use or sale of controlled substance. She’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a published report, on September 17, a deputy with the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team stopped a Ford F-150 on West Memorial Highway near Jericho Road, east of Harmony. Krysz, who was driving the vehicle, was advised of the violation. After the deputy spoke with her regarding the presence of illegal drugs, deputies searched the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was reportedly found.
A search of Krysz reportedly resulted in the discovery of three bags of methamphetamine in her possession. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Bond was set at $5,000 secured. Krysz was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (September 25). A District Court date is set for October 9.
