Woman Charged With Drug Offenses Following Investigation Into Reported Crimes At Park

26-year-old Tiffany Amber Power of Eastway Drive in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. According to information released Tuesday (April 11), on April 4, she was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She’s also charged on outstanding warrants with two misdemeanor counts of defrauding an innkeeper and traffic offenses.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints about possible drug activity, prostitution, and loitering at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Statesville. This location was formerly known as Lakewood Park. Citizens were concerned about the incidents that were occurring in a park where children play.

The Sheriff’s Office Narcotic’s Unit and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team started conducting surveillance and undercover operations at the park. This resulted in the arrest of Power along with three other individuals, who were charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure. One of the other suspects was also charged with misdemeanor nudity at a public park.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Power’s criminal history shows a conviction in June, 2016 in Iredell County on multiple counts of felony breaking & entering. She served prison time as a result of the conviction.

Investigators were continuing to monitor the park. Power was jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center where she remained as of earlier today (April 12) under $17,500 secured bond. Her next District Court date is April 26.
