35-year-old Tracy Rae Givens of Gastonia was arrested Saturday (July 25) by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of trafficking heroin by possession, transport, and manufacturing, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
A Crime Stoppers tip led to a surveillance operation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. Surveillance was conducted Saturday by narcotics investigators and during the course of the operation a traffic stop was conducted. A K-9 officer alerted officers to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted reportedly and led to the seizure of 12 grams of heroin, two grams of meth, a fully loaded Smith and Wesson 38 special handgun and U. S. currency. Givens was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $225,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (July 28). Her next District Court date is August 17. The investigation is continuing and more charges could be filed.
