41 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday (April 20) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the overall total to 18,269. In addition, for the first time since April 7, a coronavirus-associated death was reported in Catawba County, raising the total to 298 overall. Hospitalizations remained in single-digits, with the total staying at seven, the same as Monday (April 19).
A COVID-19-related death was reported in Alexander County Tuesday, raising the total to 86. Three new cases of the virus were reported in Alexander, increasing the tally to 4,296. Five Alexander County residents were hospitalized.
