Wednesday Morning COVID-19 Update: Deaths Reported In Burke County, New Cases Confirmed In All Hickory Metro Counties

15 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday (September 22) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the overall total to 3,028, with 53 deaths. 11 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County, three fewer than Monday’s (September 21) update.

Burke County Public Health reported the county’s 42nd and 43rd COVID-19-related deaths Tuesday. One of the individuals was in their 90s and was not hospitalized, the other person was in their 80s and was in the hospital. 21 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Tuesday in Burke County, raising the total to 2,309. There were five people hospitalized.

Seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday in Alexander County, upping the total to 489, with six deaths. There were two people hospitalized in Alexander. Six new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Tuesday in Caldwell County, increasing the count to 1,630, with 28 deaths. There were 21 Caldwell County residents hospitalized.
