Wednesday Morning COVID-19 Update: Deaths Reported In All Four Counties, Highest Single-Day Case Totals In Catawba, Caldwell

Two COVID-19-associated deaths were reported Tuesday (November 24) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 89. In addition, 123 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, increasing the total to 6,547. 123 is the highest single-day total of new cases reported in Catawba County since the beginning of the pandemic. Hospitalizations increased to 54, three more than Monday’s (November 23) report.

Burke County Public Health reported the 67th COVID-19-related death in the county Tuesday. The individual was in their 70s and was hospitalized. 52 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Burke County Tuesday, increasing the total to 3,974. 14 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Burke County.

The Caldwell County Health Department reported the county’s 41st COVID-19-associated death Tuesday. The patient was between the ages of 65 and 74, was hospitalized, and reportedly had underlying health conditions. 89 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Tuesday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 3,374. 26 people were hospitalized. 89 new cases is the highest single-day total reported in Caldwell County.

According to an update Tuesday, Alexander County has a total of 1,498 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Two coronvirus-related deaths have been added since the last report late last week, along with 125 new cases.
