Catawba County Public Health reported ten new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (August 25), increasing the total count to 2,527, with 42 deaths. There were 17 people hospitalized with the coronavirus as of Tuesday, one more than the total reported Monday (August 24) by Catawba County health officials.
Burke County Public Health was notified Tuesday of the 33rd COVID-19-related death in the county. The individual in their 60s was hospitalized. Ten new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Burke County Tuesday, increasing the total to 1,965. There were 12 people hospitalized with the coronavirus and at least 1,681 patients had recovered.
12 new coronavirus cases were confirmed Tuesday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 1,382, with 20 deaths. There were 19 people hospitalized with COVID-19 and at least 770 patients had recovered. Another case was reported in the outbreak at the Caldwell Correctional Center in Hudson. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety facility has a total of 17 cases; 13 inmates, three employees, and one volunteer.
