157 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Tuesday (January 26) in Catawba County, along with one coronavirus-related death. The overall case count is 14,982 and there have been 231 virus-related deaths. There were 102 people hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Caldwell County health officials reported two COVID-19-related deaths Tuesday, increasing the total to 109. Both patients were over the age of 75, had been hospitalized, and were reported to have underlying health conditions. 11 new cases were reported in Caldwell County Tuesday, raising the total to 7,815. There were 47 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Two coronavirus-associated deaths were reported Tuesday in Burke County, lifting the total to 113. One of the patients was in their 50s, the other was in their 80s, and both were hospitalized. 49 new cases of the virus were confirmed in Burke County Tuesday, increasing the overall tally to 8,347. There were 27 people hospitalized.
According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services three additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Alexander County, increasing the total to 57. 15 new cases of the virus have been added since Tuesday, increasing the total to 3,398.
