Water Line Repair Completed In Long View
LONG VIEW, N.C. (WHKY) – According to the Town of Long View, after more than 48 hours of continuous work, the water line repair in the Indian Hills/Cape Hickory Road area has been completed.
Water restoration was underway as of Wednesday evening (September 9). Water is being restored slowly and carefully to allow the system to repressurize safely. Residents should begin seeing water service return, but it may take some time for pressure to fully stabilize throughout the affected area.
As service is restored, customers may experience:
• Milky or cloudy water caused by air in the lines
• Discolored or muddy-looking water
• Temporary fluctuations in water pressure
If you experience discoloration, please allow an outside spigot to run for approximately 5–10 minutes to help flush your service line. Avoid using hot water for flushing.
We cannot thank our Public Works Department enough for their tremendous effort over the past several days. Our crew has worked incredibly long hours to locate, isolate, and repair multiple water line issues and restore service to our residents.
We also sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents throughout this process. We know water disruptions are frustrating, and we are grateful for your cooperation while our team worked to get this repair completed.
We will continue to monitor the system as water service and pressure return to normal.
