41-year-old Clayton Robert Tallent of Tallent Road in Vale has been charged with two counts of felony cruelty to animals and two counts of misdemeanor allowing livestock to run at large. As of 11:45 a.m. today (November 16) the warrants had not been served.

Tallent was charged after Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted Lincoln County Animal Services with a search warrant on property on North Brook Number Three School Road in Vale. The suspect is the property owner. The search warrant was the result of a number of complaints regarding livestock that was allowed to run at-large. Tallent previously received several civil citations and faced misdemeanor criminal charges.

During the search, several livestock were found deceased and others malnourished. After the search, Sheriff’s Officers assisted Animal Services personnel in removing the livestock from the property.
