Valdese Man Charged In Connection To Church Break-in

25-year-old Nicholas Lee Pearson of Pineburr Avenue SE in Valdese was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering to a place of worship and larceny after breaking and entering.

On August 25, 2020, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a break-in at Crosslink Church of Rutherford College. A suspect broke a window to gain access to the Church building and stole two televisions, offering deposit bags and some items from the Christ Classical Academy. The responding deputy was told that Nicholas Lee Pearson was the person who had broken into the church.

A Burke County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy and detectives went to the caller’s residence and were given part of the property that was stolen from the Church. The caller also said that Pearson had the two televisions, and that he had fresh cuts on his right arm.

Officers found Pearson at his Valdese residence with the two stolen televisions from Crosslink Church. Pearson was arrested and his bond was set at $5,000 secured. He is not listed as an inmate in Burke County. A District Court date is set for September 17.
