Vacant Factory Building in N.E. Hickory Damaged in Early Morning Fire

At approximately 3:15 Wednesday morning (November 13), Hickory Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the area of 14th Street N.E. and Highland Avenue N.E.

Upon arrival, Firefighters reported a large fire coming from a vacant factory building at 838 14th Street N.E. As of approximately ten o’clock this morning, Firefighters remained on the scene working to extinguish smoldering fires.

The Fire Department responded with three engines, two ladders, one rescue truck, and two command units. Hickory Police and Catawba County E.M.S. also responded to the incident. The Long View and St. Stephens fire departments were called in for mutual aid.

No injuries have been reported. Damages to the building are considered major.
