Update: Suspect In Stopped School Bus Violation Turns Himself In

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports an arrest in connection to a stopped school bus violation that occurred on Carlyle Road at Farmdale Drive in Iredell County shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday (January 4).

18-year-old Ishmael Partida Gonzalez of Davidson has been arrested and charged with passing a stopped school bus, careless and reckless driving, no motorcycle endorsement, and a registration violation. 

As WHKY previously reported, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist traveling north on Carlyle Road passed a stopped school bus with its warning lights activated and stop arm extended as a child was crossing the road. According to Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist almost struck the child and continued north.

The driver was operating what appeared to be a Kawasaki Ninja 400 motorcycle. Gonzalez was arrested after turning himself in at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and received a $2500 bond. He was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (January 7) and no court dates were listed.
