30-year-old Dionte Maurice Carroll of Statesville and 33-year-old Aaron Markel Carroll of Winston-Salem were arrested Tuesday (November 22) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. Dionte Carroll is charged with five felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine by possession, four felony counts apiece of trafficking meth by sale, delivery and transportation, five felony counts of manufacture, sell, deliver, or possess controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of felony conspiracy and felony trafficking fentanyl.
Aaron Carroll is charged with two felony counts of trafficking meth by possession, felony counts of trafficking meth by sale, transportation, and delivery, two Counts of felony manufacture, sell, deliver, or possess controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and two counts of felony conspiracy.
On Tuesday, Investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division along with Special Agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI) along with members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office SERT Team executed a search warrant at an address on Yadkin Street in west Statesville. After the search, they arrested Donte and Aaron Carroll on numerous felony-related narcotics warrants.
Beginning in October of 2023, local and state investigators reportedly began making undercover purchases of crystal methamphetamine from Donte and Aaron Carroll. During the investigation, officers purchased a total of 2.1 pounds of crystal meth from the two suspects on five separate occasions.
During the search, investigators reportedly found 1.6 pounds of crystal meth, 16.2 grams of fentanyl (which is enough to kill over 4,000 people), 16.8 Grams of ecstasy, 300.4 grams of marijuana, and more than $85,000 in cash. Investigators also seized a vehicle allegedly used by Aaron Carroll to deliver narcotics during one of the undercover purchases.
The total street value of all the narcotics seized is more than $85,000. Both suspects were incarcerated in the Iredell County Detention Center, Dionte Carroll under $7,500,000 secured bond, Aaron Carroll under $3,200,000 secured bond. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in District Court next Monday (November 27).
