Two Suspects Jailed Following Traffic Stop During Which Multiple Drugs Were Seized
37-year-old Kyle Blackburn Brown of Jamestown Road and 32-year-old Samantha Leigh Bowman of Scott Road, both from Morganton, were both arrested Wednesday (August 16) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. They’re both charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II controlled substance, two felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance, and misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule II, IV and VI controlled substance. Brown is also charged with driving during revocation.
Shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday, a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on Jamestown Road in Morganton on a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle without a tail light or tag light. After making contact with the occupants, the officer seized 26.1 grams of fentanyl, 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, 20 dosage units of morphine sulfate, and 2.1 grams of marijuana. The suspects were arrested and charged.
Both suspects were incarcerated in the Burke County Jail, Brown under $100,000 secured bond, Bowman under $100,120 secured bond. They both remained in jail as of earlier today (August 18). The next District Court date for both suspects is set for September 1.
