Two Suspects Facing Felony Charges Held In Jail In Alexander County

33-year-old Lauren Cassidy Bolick-Swaby of Hickory and 31-year-old Steven Tyler Philbeck of Granite Falls were arrested last Thursday (February 16) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Bolick-Swaby is charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance, and possession of schedule II controlled substance. She was also served warrants for failing to appear on Catawba County charges that include felony probation violation, providing fictitious information to an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Philbeck is charged with felony counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver meth, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substance, and parole violation. The two suspects were arrested following a traffic stop last Thursday evening.

According to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Bolick-Swaby is on probation as a result of a conviction in November, 2022 in Catawba County for possession of drug paraphernalia. She received probation and a twelve month suspended sentence. That same site shows that Philbeck has convictions in Catawba County in March and October of 2022.

Both suspects remained in the Alexander County Detention Center as of earlier today (February 22). Bolick-Swaby was being held under $54,000 secured bond, Philbeck was being held under no bond. Bolick-Swaby has a District Court date February 27, Philbeck is scheduled to appear in District Court March 13.
