Two Suspects Charged With Larceny Offenses Following Reported Chase
32-year-old Rasean Akeem Mustipher and 22-year-old Avone Jrell Williams, both of Charlotte, were arrested by Mooresville Police Officers. Mustipher is charged with felony counts of flee to elude arrest, larceny, and conspiracy to commit felony larceny. He’s also charged with traffic counts including aggressive driving and driving left of center.
Williams was charged with felony counts of larceny, and conspiracy to commit felony larceny along with a misdemeanor count of destruction of evidence.
On July 6, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Officers were contacted by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) Detectives about two individuals with outstanding felony larceny warrants in both the CMPD and MPD’s jurisdictions.
The suspect vehicle was found by MPD Officers on Argus Lane in the Village at Byers Creek shopping center shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, The suspect vehicle fled east on Highway 150/River Highway and south on Interstate 77. The MPD Traffic Unit deployed stop sticks deflating two tires, but the pursuit continued into Mecklenburg County.
The pursuit ended near I-77, exit 23, with both suspects being taken into custody without incident. Once in custody, MPD Officers discovered the suspects had allegedly committed additional larcenies at Harris Teeter (more than $2,000 in merchandise) and Walgreens (over $300 in merchandise).
Both suspects were placed in the Iredell County Detention Center, Mustipher under a $56,000 secured bond, Williams under a $35,000 secured bond. Both suspects remained in jail as of earlier today (July 10). Williams has a District Court date July 25, Mustipher is scheduled to appear in District Court July 26.
