Two Suspects Charged In Morganton Shooting Incident

20-year-old J’Kobe Tre-Shon Ramseur of Statesville and 20-year-old Tyon Shamar Turner of Morganton were arrested Thursday (November 2) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. Both suspects were charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday, Public Safety received a call for shots fired at the intersection of Independence Boulevard and N.C. 126. Officers responded and were told that a white passenger car was involved. Minutes later responding officers found a white Chevrolet passenger car on Camellia Garden Street.

During the course of the investigation, Public Safety Officers, with the assistance of Burke County Narcotics and NC Probation and Parole Officers found three firearms. The two suspects were arrested and placed in the Burke County Jail, where they both remained as of earlier today (November 3). Ramseur was being held under $100,000 secured bond and Turner was incarcerated under no bond. They were both scheduled to appear in District Court today.
