Two Statesville Men Charged with B&E and Larceny

27-year-old Christopher Cole Jarvis of Woodbrook Lane and 26-year-old Travis David Reed of the Hickory Highway, both from Statesville, have been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputies on B&E and larceny charges. They were both charged with six felony counts of breaking & entering and six felony counts of larceny after breaking & entering, plus two counts of conspiracy to commit felony larceny. Reed was also charged with felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Events leading to the arrests began on December 8 when Deputies responded to a break-in at a residence on Deer Creek Trail. The homeowner told Deputies that several items had been stolen from the residence while it was being renovated. Among the stolen items were several appliances, tools, and other personal items valued at more than $11,000.

Detectives interviewed neighbors and witnesses and obtained surveillance video. The video footage showed that the suspect vehicle was a gray Nissan truck occupied by two individuals. After further investigation, Detectives identified the suspects as Jarvis and Reed.

Detectives located both suspects and recovered most of the stolen property. The recovered property, valued at nearly $9,000, was returned to the homeowner.

Jarvis was arrested on December 13 and Reed was arrested on December 17. Both were placed in the Iredell County Detention Center. Jarvis, who was out on bond on pending charges, was held without bond. Reed was given a $12,000 secured bond. Jarvis will appear in District Court on January 4, while Reed has a court date set for January 16.
