A shooting during which one person was killed is under investigation. At around 8:25 p.m. Saturday (November 4) officers with the Troutman Police Department responded to an address on North Main Street. They responded following a report stating that there were two people at that location suffering from gunshot wounds.

When officers arrived and spoke with one of the victims it was discovered that the subjects were shot at another location in Troutman and had arrived there in a vehicle.

Officers found the scene of the shooting on Mills Avenue in Troutman after receiving further information from the victim. One victim was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment and the second victim died at the scene.

Information on the victims was being withheld until notification is made to the next of kin. The Troutman Police Department is being assisted in this investigation by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
