29-year-old Dimitris Rashawn Williams of 15th Avenue SW in Hickory was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
On Friday (March 26) at 9:26 p.m. deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Maiden Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Ramseur Road in Maiden. When deputies arrived they discovered two people, a man and woman, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female victim was transported by helicopter to Atrium Health in Charlotte. The male victim was transported by ambulance to Atrium Health in Lincolnton. Both remained hospitalized in serious condition as of this afternoon (March 27).
The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) initiated an investigation into this incident. The probe resulted in Dimitris Rashawn Williams being established as a suspect.
