40-year-old William Jerome Wilson of Oakwood Court in Iron Station and 21-year-old Nathaniel Ray Maguire of Clearview Lane in Lincolnton were both arrested last Thursday (April 28) by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers.
Wilson is charged with three felony counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and two felony counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance. In addition, Wilson is charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance in a penal institution, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.
Maguire is charged with four felony counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and two felony counts apiece of trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver Schedule I controlled substance. In addition, he’s charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance along with a count of speeding to elude arrest.
Last Thursday, narcotics investigators were attempting a traffic stop of a vehicle on Highway 321 when the driver attempted to elude the officers. A vehicle chase followed and ended on Hoffman Road in Gaston County when the suspect vehicle crashed through a fence. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.
Both suspects were placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center, Wilson under $262,000 secured bond and Maquire under $272,000 secured bond. Both suspects remained in jail as of earlier today (May 2). They’re both scheduled to appear in District Court May 19.
