Two Killed in Monday A.M. Accident in Iredell

At about 8:25 this morning (January 3), the N.C. State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision in Iredell County on N.C. Highway 90, near Lippard Farm Road. The driver of a westbound 2007 Infiniti G35 lost control, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with an eastbound 2002 International box truck.

The driver of the Infiniti, 41-year-old Brandy Renee Redmon and a passenger, 16-year-old Kenyon Marquize Dulin, both from Statesville, passed away at the scene. The driver of the truck, 46-year-old Roxann Constransitch of Mount Holly was seriously injured and was taken to a trauma center by E.M.S.

According to the Highway Patrol, exceeding a safe speed for the conditions of the wet roadway and operating a vehicle with unsafe tires appear to be contributing circumstances on the part of the driver of the Infiniti. The roadway was closed for nearly three hours during the investigation.
