Two from Virginia Arrested in Iredell; One Charged with Trafficking

23-year-old Machallie Reann Meade and 26-year-old Patrick Jack Martin, both from St. Paul, Virginia were arrested Tuesday (February 13) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. Meade was charged with felony counts of trafficking opium or heroin by transport & possession and possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule I controlled substance, along with misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Martin was served with an outstanding order for arrest out of Cabarrus County.

They were arrested after a Deputy responded to the 1,400 block of West Memorial Highway in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The Deputy located the vehicle and spoke with its occupants, Machallie Reann Meade and Patrick Jack Martin. The Deputy became suspicious of drug activity in the vehicle. After talking further with Meade and Martin, Deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search turned up 7.58 grams of heroin, buprenorphine, and drug paraphernalia. A search of a criminal databases showed the order for arrest on Martin.

Both suspects were placed in the Iredell County Detention Center. Bond for Meade was set at $250,000, secured. Martin was given a $1,500 secured bond. No court dates are currently listed.
