Two Connelly Springs Men Arrested on Variety of Charges

25-year-old Corey Wesley Fagan and 33-year-old Christopher Shane Achor, both of the same address on U.S. Highway 70 in Connelly Springs, have been arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers on a variety of charges. Fagan was charged with felony counts of larceny (two counts), breaking & entering a motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods, and willful injury to railroad property, along with a misdemeanor count of trespassing on railroad right-of-way. Achor was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

On September 12, Sheriff’s Officers assisted Officers with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction with a probation search at the suspects’ address. Fagan and Achor are both currently under supervised probation.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Fagan was found in possession of stolen tools that were taken from a vehicle in Connelly Springs on September 6. Fagan also had copper wiring that was stolen from a railroad hot box. Norfolk Southern Railroad Police reported that a subject had stolen the copper at about 6:20 a.m. on September 12, which caused a major disruption along their railway system. Detectives were aware of the case and spotted the wiring in Fagan’s bedroom. Norfolk Southern employees arrived on the scene and verified the property. Achor allegedly had cocaine and fentanyl in his possession.

Fagan was jailed under a $50,000 secured bond, while Achor’s bond was set at $25,000, secured. Both suspects have District Court dates coming up on October 5. Fagan will also appear in Superior Court on October 9.
