Two Accused of Stealing Lumber in Lincoln County

48-year-old William Christopher Goins of Hatchett Road and 49-year-old Kimberly Bivens of Betterbrook Lane, both from Lincolnton, have been arrested in connection with the theft of lumber from a location on Null Road. They were both charged with felony larceny. Goins was also served with an outstanding warrant from Catawba County for failure to appear. Bivens was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

On May 16, Lincoln County Deputies received information from the owner of the construction company that subjects in a white truck were stealing lumber from a home under construction on Null Road. Deputies stopped a white Ford F150 on Hatchett Road. The truck, which was believed to be the suspect vehicle, was loaded with lumber.

The victim told Officers there had been two previously unreported thefts from the site on May 13 & 14, both involving a white pickup truck. Photos from a trail camera posted at the job site showed identifying markings on the truck.

A search warrant was obtained for Goins’ property. There, Officers recovered 110 pieces of lumber stolen in the unreported thefts. The stolen lumber was valued at $1,500.

Goins and Bivens were placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center. Goins was jailed under a no bond hold for Catawba County. Bivens was given a $5,500 secured bond. No court dates are currently listed.
