Tuesday Morning COVID-19 Update: New Cases Reported In All Four Hickory Metro Counties (Updated With Fourth Alexander County Death)

Catawba County Public Health reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 Monday (September 14), increasing the total to 2,847. There have been 49 coronavirus-related deaths in Catawba County since the start of the pandemic. Public Health reported that there were 12 people hospitalized in Catawba County with COVID-19, that’s one more than Sunday (September 13).

Burke County Public Health was notified Sunday about the 41st COVID-19-associated death in the county. The individual in their 90s was hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions. 16 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Monday in Burke County, increasing the total to 2,181. There were eight people hospitalized in Burke County.

Nine new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Caldwell County between Friday (September 11) and Monday afternoon, increasing the total to 1,567, with 25 deaths. There were 22 people hospitalized in Caldwell County.

The fourth coronavirus-associated death was reported Monday in Alexander County. Two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday by the Alexander County Health Department, increasing the total to 452.  There were 58 people in quarantine with COVID-19, three people in the hospital, and at least 387 patients have recovered.
