A COVID-19-related death was reported Monday (November 9) by Catawba County Public Health, raising the total to 70. 53 new cases of the coronavirus were reported as well, increasing the count to 5,224. There were 46 people hospitalized with COVID-19, five fewer than Sunday (November 8).
On Monday, Caldwell County health officials learned of the county’s 34th coronavirus-associated death. The patient was over the age of 75, was hospitalized, and had underlying health conditions. 46 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday by Caldwell health officials, increasing the total to 2,877. There were 17 Caldwell residents hospitalized.
The Alexander County Health Department reported 64 additional COVID-19 cases Monday, making the total 1,097, with 12 deaths. There were 134 people in quarantine with COVID-19 which includes approximately 60 inmates and four employees at the Alexander Correctional Institution. There were 26 Alexander County residents hospitalized and at least 925 patients have recovered.
