The 54th COVID-19-associated death was reported Monday (September 28) by Catawba County Public Health. In addition, Public Health reported 17 new cases of the coronavirus in the county, increasing the total to 3,161. There were 14 people hospitalized, one fewer than Sunday (September 27).
Burke County Public Health reported the county’s 45th and 46th coronavirus-associated deaths. One of the individuals was in their 80s and was hospitalized, they had underlying medical conditions. The other individual who passed away was in their 50s and was hospitalized. Four additional COVID-19 cases were reported Monday in Burke County, increasing the total to 2,383. There were eight people hospitalized.
18 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Caldwell County between Friday (September 25) and Monday, raising the total to 1,684, with 28 deaths. There were 22 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with the coronavirus.
