There have been no virus-related fatalities reported in Catawba County since April 7. 40 new cases of the coronavirus were reported between Friday (April 16) and Monday (April 19), increasing the total to 18,228. Hospitalizations remained at seven, the same total as the last update.

The individuals were in their 60s, 70s, and 80s and were all hospitalized. 13 new cases of the virus were reported Monday, raising the total to 9,911. There were ten people hospitalized.
28 new cases of COVID-19 were reported between Friday and Monday in Alexander County, increasing the total to 4,293, with 85 deaths. Nine new cases of the virus were reported in Caldwell County between Friday and Monday, increasing the tally to 9,131, with 145 deaths. Four people were hospitalized.
