HUDSON, N.C. (WHKY) – There was no racing Saturday night at Tri-County Motor Speedway after track officials postponed the scheduled Pepsi 250 because of an unfavorable weekend weather forecast and copious amounts of rain through the course of this week.

According to speedway officials, forecasts called for precipitation throughout the weekend, prompting the decision to postpone the event rather than risk unnecessary travel for competitors and teams.

Officials said making the decision in advance was intended to give racers traveling long distances an opportunity to avoid unnecessary fuel and travel expenses while also allowing fans, employees, and track personnel to adjust their plans.

A makeup date for the Pepsi 250 has not yet been announced. Speedway officials said a rescheduled date will be released in the coming days.

Tri-County Motor Speedway apologized for the inconvenience and thanked racers, fans, and supporters for their patience and understanding.
