Tri-County Motor Speedway has postponed its scheduled Independence Day racing program because recent repairs to portions of the racing surface have not fully cured amid continued extreme heat.

Track officials announced the decision Friday, saying the postponement came after extensive evaluation of the asphalt repairs completed last week. According to the speedway, the repaired sections of the track remain a concern and could affect the quality and safety of competition if racing were held as scheduled.

Officials said multiple options were considered before deciding to move the event, but concluded that postponement was the best course of action rather than risk issues with the racing surface on race day.

The Independence Day Show has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 25. The event will include the planned night of racing along with a fireworks display.

In a statement, Tri-County Motor Speedway apologized for the inconvenience and thanked drivers, teams and fans for their patience and understanding. Track officials said the decision reflects the speedway’s commitment to providing the safest possible racing conditions while maintaining the quality of competition expected by competitors and spectators.
