Traffic Stop Results In Fentanyl Charges
Two Catawba County men were arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop in Alexander County. According to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on May 16 after receiving a call from a concerned citizen.
During the stop, deputies arrested 38-year-old Ai Chon See of Newton. He was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, communicating threats, and possession of an open container of alcohol. See was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for May 18 in Alexander County District Court.
Also arrested was 37-year-old Steven Gilvaja of Newton. He was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple assault, and driving while license revoked. Gilvaja was jailed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was also scheduled for May 18 in Alexander County District Court.
