Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest
43-year-old Jason Anthony Dobson of Jamestown Road in Morganton was arrested by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Last Wednesday (July 5) shortly after 1:00 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a blue 2019 Honda Civic on Interstate 40 West in Morganton. The vehicle was stopped after the officer noticed it was failing to maintain its lane and speed. Contact was made with the driver, Jason Dobson, who was placed under arrest. Police reportedly seized 1.1 grams of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Dobson’s criminal history includes a conviction in August, 2000 for assault on a female. Following last week’s arrest, Dobson was brought to the Burke County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. He is not listed as an inmate in Burke County today (July 12). The next District Court date is scheduled for July 27.
