Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest

43-year-old David Isaac Webb of HIlldale Lane in Morganton was arrested Wednesday (August 30) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture schedule II controlled substance.

Webb was arrested following a traffic stop at 5 p.m. Wednesday on East Meeting Street at Bouchelle Street in Morganton. The officer stopped a Honda Civic that displayed a tag reported stolen. The tag belonged to a Toyota. The officer made contact with the driver, who had a suspended license and is on probation for drug related charges. That individual was identified as the suspect, Webb.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult CorrectionOffender Public Information website, David Isaac Webb has multiple convictions dating back to 2002. He’s been convicted of various charges in Burke, Avery, Watauga, and Rutherford Counties. The most recent conviction was in January, 2022, in Burke County for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance.

Following Wednesday’s arrest, Webb was brought to the Burke County Jail under $25,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (September 1). His next District Court date is set for September 21.
