Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

47-year-old Jason Glenn Langley of Fairview Road in Marion was arrested last Thursday (July 27) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Last Thursday shortly before 4:30 a.m., a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop of a silver 2005 Honda Accord. The vehicle was stopped after the officer ran the registration plate and learned that the registered owner did not have a valid North Carolina license.

The officer made contact with the four occupants of the vehicle. One gram of a substance described as an amphetamine was seized by the officer. Langley was arrested and charged with the drug offenses. Another occupant of the vehicle was charged with a misdemeanor count.

Langley was brought to the Burke County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate in Burke County today (July 31). A District Court appearance is scheduled for August 14.
