The 48th COVID-19-related death was reported by Catawba County Public Health Wednesday (September 2). In addition, 12 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, making the county’s total 2,668. There were 12 people hospitalized with COVID-19, the same total as Tuesday (September 1).
Caldwell County health officials confirmed the county’s 21st COVID-19-related death Wednesday. The patient, who was over the age of 75, was hospitalized and reported to have underlying conditions. 25 new coronavirus infections were reported Wednesday in Caldwell County, increasing the overall total to 1,460. There were 18 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with COVID-19.
16 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Wednesday in Burke County, raising the count to 2,068 overall. There were eight people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Burke County.
