A COVID-19-associated death was reported by Catawba County Public Health Wednesday (November 11), increasing the total to 71 since the start of the pandemic. In addition, 56 new coronavirus cases were confirmed, raising the total to 5,368. Hospitalizations rose by two to 41.
On Wednesday, Caldwell County health officials learned of two COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the total in the county to 38. Both patients were over the age of 75. One of the patients was reported to have underlying health conditions and was hospitalized.
19 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Wednesday in Caldwell County, raising the overall total to 2,916. There were 21 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with the coronavirus and at least 1,919 patients had recovered.
17 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed Wednesday in Burke County, lifting the overall total to 3,390, with 64 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized in Burke County and at least 2,824 patients had recovered.
No new COVID-19 cases were reported Tuesday in Alexander County, leaving the total at 1,097, with 12 deaths. There were 3,119 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, it’s the first time the state has topped 3,000 new cases in one day.
