The Caldwell County Health Department reported four COVID-19-related deaths Wednesday (November 25), increasing the total to 45. Three patients were over the age of 75 and one patient was between 65 and 74. All of the patients were hospitalized and were reported to have underlying health conditions. 49 new cases of the virus were reported Wednesday in Caldwell County, raising the total to 3,423. There were 25 people hospitalized.
As previously reported on WHKY, Catawba County Public Health reported two COVID-19-related deaths Wednesday, increasing the total to 91. 71 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, raising the total to 6,618. There were 56 people hospitalized with the virus in Catawba County.
Burke County Public Health reported 50 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, increasing the total to 4,024, with 67 deaths. There were 20 people hospitalized with the coronavirus and at least 3,171 Burke County patients have recovered from the virus. No new coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday in Alexander County, leaving the total at 1,498 cases, with 15 deaths.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported 4,212 new cases Wednesday, the third highest single-day total of new cases since the start of the pandemic.
