30 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Catawba County Wednesday (September 16), increasing the overall total to 2,895, with 51 deaths. There are 15 people hospitalized, two more than were reported in the Tuesday (September 15) update.
Caldwell County health officials learned of the county’s 26th COVID-19-related death Wednesday. The patient, who was between the ages of 65 and 74, was hospitalized and was reported to have underlying conditions. Nine new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed Wednesday in Caldwell County, raising the total to 1,587. There were 21 people hospitalized.
24 new COVID-19 infections were reported in Burke County Wednesday. Burke County Public Health reports a total of 2,217 positive cases, with 41 deaths. There were four people in the hospital with the coronavirus in Burke County, two fewer than the Tuesday update.
