59-year-old Robert Dale Turner and 27-year-old Alisha Marie Perry of Bowman Lowman Avenue in Hickory and 24-year-old Austin Lane Ervin of Dudley Shoals Road in Granite Falls, were arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. Turner is charged with two felony counts of possession of stolen goods and one count of misdemeanor larceny. Perry is charged with felony possession of stolen goods. And Ervin is charged with felony counts of possession of heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin along with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Two other individuals were arrested in this case on misdemeanor charges.
Last Saturday (January 2) Burke County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an address on Bowman Lowman Avenue in Hickory, to a caller who said they were being assaulted and robbed. Upon arrival, deputies found numerous people outside the residence as well as a stolen vehicle from Hickory. Further investigation led to the arrest of Perry on the stolen goods charge.
Deputies spoke with the homeowner, Robert Dale Turner, who was on active probation. Probation officers responded to the scene and conducted a search of the home aided by deputies. Deputies found a man who initially provided officers with a fictitious name. He was one of the individuals arrested on misdemeanor charges. A woman was found in the house who reportedly lied to officers and was later charged with a misdemeanor.
As the investigation continued, deputies recovered a stolen motorcycle from Hickory, as well as stolen property from multiple other active Burke County cases. Turner was arrested and charged in connection to the stolen motorcycle and various other items found at his property.
While officers were on the scene, a vehicle approached the residence, but turned around and left. A deputy located the vehicle a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop and search. The driver, Austin Lane Ervin, was allegedly in possession of an undisclosed amount of heroin. Ervin was arrested and charged with the previously mentioned drug offenses.
Bond for Turner and Perry was set at $10,000 secured apiece. Ervin’s bond was set at $35,000 secured. Turner, Perry, and Ervin are all scheduled to appear in District Court January 25. Turner and Ervin remained in jail as of earlier today (January 7), Perry was not listed as an inmate in Burke County. The recovered stolen property involved multiple agencies and multiple investigations. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
