25-year-old Zakirus Wachovia Davis and 19-year-old Isaiah Marques Carmichael, both of Greensboro, and 31-year-old Daniel Lahorace Nelson of High Point, were all arrested Thursday (April 15) by Newton Police Officers. All three suspects are charged with felony breaking and entering.

Thursday, just before 5:00 a.m., an officer with the Newton Police Department was on routine patrol when he discovered a breaking and entering in progress at the Valero convenience store at 1969 Northwest Boulevard. When officers approached the store, three suspects ran from the store and left the scene in a vehicle which was parked nearby.

A second suspect was found hiding under a nearby storage building. The third suspect was apprehended shortly after the crash near the area of the Valero.

The three suspects were arrested and charged. Bond for each individual was set at $10,000 secured. None of the suspects are currently listed as inmates in Catawba County. All three had District Court appearances Thursday.

The Newton Police Department was assisted on this case by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone having additional information concerning this case is asked to contact Officer Jose Hernandez at 828-465-7430. The case is still under investigation by the Newton Police Department.
