Three Suspects Charged In Alexander County Drug Case
32-year-old Tanner Parks McAlpin, 29-year-old Megan Nicole Williams, and 22-year-old Jada Leann Smiley, all of Taylorsville were arrested by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. McAlpin is charged with offenses including felony counts of conspire to traffic methamphetamine, maintain a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance, possession of schedule II controlled substance, traffic in meth, four felony counts of possession of a stolen firearm, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
Williams was charged with offenses including felony counts of traffic in meth and conspire to traffic meth. Smiley was charged with offenses including felony counts of traffic in meth and conspire to traffic in meth.
On Thursday (June 29) at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 1316 Sipe Road, west of Taylorsville. Narcotics Officers have been conducting a 6 month investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs from the location.
During the search of the residence, a large quantity of methamphetamine, 14 firearms (four of which were reported as stolen), and various items of drug paraphernalia were located. The same Sipe Road residence was the scene of a similar drug bust in September, 2022. At that time McAlpin was charged with multiple felony drug offenses.
All three suspects were placed in the Alexander County detention Center following their arrests. McAlpin was incarcerated under a secured bond of $1 million, Williams was given a secured bond of $250,000, and Smiley was given a secured bond of $250,000. All three suspects remained in jail as of earlier today (July 3). A District Court Date was scheduled today.
