The North Carolina East-West All-Star Games are coming up next week in Greensboro. The East-West All-Star Games were founded in 1949 by Coach Bob Jamieson of Grimsley High School and Smith Barrier, the sports editor of the Greensboro Daily news, to help finance the North Carolina Coaches Association Coaching Clinic. The games feature players who have just graduated from high school, the best from the Eastern half of North Carolina against the best from the West. Traditionally, the games are held in mid-July in conjunction with the North Carolina Coaches Association Coaching Clinic. The games include girls and boys basketball, girls and boys soccer, and football. The All-Star Football game is played in December, a week after the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs. Three players, and one coach will be participating in the All-Star games this year for basketball and soccer.

The basketball games will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Novant Health Field House on Monday, July 20th. The women’s game tips off at 6:30pm with the men to follow at 8:30. The boys soccer game will be held at 8:30pm on Tuesday, July 21st at Truist Point in High Point.
