Three Men Charged In Alexander County Drug Case
40-year-old Mark Anthony Hays of Taylorsville, 43-year-old Thomas Jackson Branson and
42-year-old Kevin Ray Norton, both of Stony Point, were arrested Tuesday (September 26) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers.
Hays is charged with two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine along with single felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance. He’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. Branson and Norton are each charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday evening, Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Probation and Parole Officers went to a residence in Stony Point to serve an arrest warrant on a parole absconder. They were unable to serve the warrant on that suspect, but while at the home they did charge the three previously mentioned men with the felony drug offenses.
All three suspects were jailed in the Alexander County Detention Center. Hays was confined under a $300,000 secured bond. Branson and Norton received $30,000 secured bonds. All three men remained in jail as of earlier today (September 28). They’re all scheduled to appear in District Court next Monday (October 2).
