Three Employees Assume New Roles in Alexander County Schools

New Alexander County Schools Superintendent Dr. Bill Griffin was sworn in Monday (July 1) at a special called meeting of the Alexander County School Board of Education. District Court Judge Dale Graham officiated the ceremony with Dr. Griffin’s wife, Meredith, holding the Bible.

Prior to his start as A.C.S. superintendent, Dr. Griffin served as assistant superintendent of Human Resources in Caldwell County. He has 28 years of experience in education. He also served as a director in Alexander County Schools from 2015-2018. Dr. Griffin has also served as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach.

Dr. Alisha Cloer assumed duties as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Auxiliary Services Monday. Formerly, Dr. Cloer served as an executive director in the Alexander County school district for six years. Dr. Cloer has also been a principal in Alexander and Iredell counties for a total of 14 years. She started her career in education as a business teacher.

Also starting in a new role on July 1 was Michelle Hinkle. Ms. Hinkle will be the assistant to superintendent Griffin, helping with board and community relations. Previously, she worked as the data manager at Bethlehem Elementary School.
